Abstract:

Photographs and photocopies of photographs taken and/or collected by Jones as research material for his book Use my name: Jack Kekrouac's forgotten families (published 1999). Includes numerous snapshots and professional portraits of Jan Kerouac, as well as photographs depicting Joan Haverty Kerouac, Paul Blake, Stella Sampas Kerouac, John G. Sampas, Edie Parker, Gerald Nicosia, Jack Kerouac and some unidentified persons; and various residences across the country which were topics of Jones' research. James T. Jones is depicted throughout the collection. Also depicted in a few images from contact sheets are musician Willie Alexander and poets Allen Ginsberg and Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
